Stefan has significant patience, is very professional, and is always on time. I have not played the piano since I was a child, and he makes sure I understand every step in the learning process in order to aide in my confidence and excitement to learn how to fulfill my life long dream of playing the piano again. I highly recommend him a teacher.

Stefan is a gifted musician and educator. He understands the fundamentals of theory, practice, and how best to impart these skills to different age groups. I am returning to the piano after almost 50 years. He is able to build on my strengths while helping me develop new ones. He is also fostering my confidence, while keeping in mind the enjoyment of playing. Stefan is an incredibly patient and nice person. I look forward to my lessons.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

The first lesson starts with teacher and student introductions - discovering everyone's musical journey.  Detailed guidelines are then clarified to avoid any confusion later on down the line (i.e. rewards, practice expectations, required materials). Then, basic "keyboard geography" is covered before teaching a simple piece he or she can continue working on at home with a few simple practice tips. Lessons are concluded with a few minutes answering any remaining music related questions.
