My teaching approach:
My teaching approach varies with the student. It is an interactive process. No one can teach you anything, until you reprocess it in your own way. Our fist lesson most students know the whole fretboard. I usually tie in reading tabs and standard music. Tabs has been used since around the 14oos and is in someways superior to standard music notation. I try to generally ffollow the KISS format. Keep it simple stupid. Less is more. Playing 20 notes were 2 or one lone substained noted would have sufficed is tome, not a good practis and does not make you a better player or musician. My influences are:
I grew up playing Chet Atkins. I would sit with the record player and play a little, move the needle back and forth. I listen to many types. I do spend a a lot of time on You tube and other learning sites. My guitar lessons take place in:
