About
Hello, My name is Christofer Goncalves; and I'm 24 years old.
I'm a professional tennis player from Venezuela who has played tennis since the age of three and is currently doing it as a professional on the ATP tour. I went to college at DI school New Mexico State University (finance major). Not being able to play on the ATP tour this year allowed me to prepare myself better while also teaching tennis in my free time. As a player, I have wins over players rank inside the top 550 ATP and have been rated 13.80 by the Universal tennis rating system (UTR). As a coach, I have coached many people from competitive young ages to older people. I have also worked as an assistant coach at the University of Miami and as a player development coach at Nick Bollettieri's Tennis Academy at IMG.
I enjoy every second while being on a tennis court. It is hard to find a similar feeling; that the one when you see how someone has improved so much because of you. As a coach and as an active player, I'm also able to learn from my students.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Firstly, I start by asking the player his/her goals. Secondly, I perform different drills to identify his/her strengths and weaknesses and then work from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have work with great coaches that have taught me a lot during the past years: Andre Agassi's coach Nick Bollettieri, Antonio Colom (coached Rafael Nadal during his first steps on the ATP tour). Laura Vallverdu ( University of Miami Co-Head Coach).
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$60 per hour
How did you get started teaching?
Luckily my skills as a tennis player have allowed me to surround myself with experts in the game. I have always been very passionate, and I constantly looked for opportunities to teach and at the same time learn. My first experience as a coach was in 2015 with the University of Miami women's team.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages and levels.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a coach that adjusts to your needs, every player is different and even though there are the same principles for everyone, not everyone has the same strengths and weaknesses to play the game.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I'm willing to answer any questions related to tennis.
