It is my pleasure to provide a testimonial on Coach Nick Savage’s behalf. Nick and I met over twenty years ago when we worked together on a significant GovCon IT program. During those days, I learned of Nick's passion for coaching, training, and mentoring athletes, focusing on strength & conditioning and various sports such as Track & Field, football, and basketball. We developed a friendship in the ensuing years. After observing Nick's passion and technique, my wife and I decided to entrust Nick with training of our three children, each with a different athletic focus. Nick’s passion for excellence and dedication to his athletes’ lives inspired me to join in his efforts, helping wherever he deemed necessary in whatever way I could. Not surprisingly throughout the years, athletes’ coach and trained by Nick have advanced through the ranks of Junior Olympics (winning at all levels), winning at the National level for younger athletes and some even joining the professional ranks. Incidentally, all our children went on to compete at the collegiate level in sports or sports journalism. Coach Nick possess every quality needed in a highly effective and supportive coach. He is knowledgeable, motivated, passionate, disciplined, dedicated to continuous improvement, and possesses an unflagging work ethic. Nick's energy and enthusiasm are contagious as he works to instill these same qualities in his assistant coaches and athletes, modeling how to excel athletically, academically with integrity. Nick has coached or trained in middle school, high school, college, and professional athletes. Coach Nick has consistently exceeded all our expectations and has been nothing short of extraordinary. His programs build confident, positive, influential leaders. I recommend Coach Nick without reservation.

Nick is and extraordinary coach that does nothing less but get results. He is highly sought after and has helped my athletes run faster, Jump higher, and get opportunities to play at the professional level. There is not one coach I would trust more in Florida the coach savage. Bar none the best speed coach in the country

Coach Nick was willing to share is knowledge of all this track and beyond. He’s personal touches made it feel as if the focus was on one when twenty could be on the track. He is one of the reasons why I am where I am today.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

With more than 25 years experience, I've developed an" ironclad" system. All student-athletes are required to go through an evaluation process focused on fitness and sport-specific valued skill sets and indicators (e.g., bio mechanics, breathing, footwork, core strength, coordination, strength, speed, agility, and quickness)

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Played, coached hundreds, and trained thousands in multiple sports at a high level over a lifetime (D.C., Md., Va, and Fla.).  One of the 1st major scholarshipped student-athletes (Track and Football) in the BIG 10 to received a degree in Computer Science - emphasis Artificial Intelligence). All-Academic BIG Ten nominee Football U of Wisconsin.  Trained athletes from pee-wee to pro. With multiple certications received for performance, fitness, military and wellness (e.g., NIKE, USATF, Mental Health, CPR).  Coached Basketbal AAU/Travel Teams to 32-1. 20 years of speed-N-sport-specific training at the elite HS level (Bishop O'Connell, Flint Hill, Stonebridge). Produced more than 600 champions and All-Americans moving onto every college in the nation.  Currently training NFL prospects and veterans in Fla..  As a technologist expert as well I monitor the progrees of my student-athletes anyplace, anywhere, anytime.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

In the New Normal (i.e. advent of Corona), current offerings include Virtual supervised 30 minute sessions and provide workouts based on the intensity and level of supervision for a monthly of $150-$300 per month.  Under normal circumstances, the following is basic structure based on certain assumptions and agreed upon requirements for session based training of 90 minutes:

League based - $20 per individual; Team based - $30;Group - $30, Semi-private $45, Private $60 my location, $100 client-based location.

Monthly based rates can also be formulated after meeting with family and getting the requirements.

How did you get started teaching?

Created a Program in Palm Beach County, Florida  thru a non-profit  I operated for the Superintendent of Instruction called The Scholastic Workshop for Excellence and Athletic Training (SWEAT).  SWEAT consisted of academics, athletics, and teen awareness workshops in the summer for teen student-athletes.  Partners included the Miami Heat, Miami Dolphins, teachers, and the U.S. Marines.   My efforts to instruct continued Maryland and Virginia. Once my son became of age, I returned to instructing - soccer, basketball, football, track, softball, LAX, wrestling, swimming and baseball.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with student-athletes from every level - beginner to elite to professional that have a variety of gifts (i.e., AP, Honors,  spectrum, special learning, ESOL, IEP, etc.).

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Looking at the Ocean or the intracoastal right after a workout and relaxing.  Watching a gifted athlete understand as you breakthrough to a new level and "AHA" moment!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Focus on making progress before promoting yourself during these unique times as we adjust to the NEW NORMAL!

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Understand the teacher's perspective and pursue seeking the answers on your own first to ask better questions; Understand the two hardest statements most people avoid to often that causes you stress - "I need help!" "I don't know!" Let the teacher or coach know!
