Beginning Piano By Serena
About
Piano is the best instrument to start out on because it helps to build a strong foundation in music theory. Young students will often try several instruments before settling down with one instrument. I believe that early insturment lessons should not cost an arm and a leg. This is why I only teach beginning piano. Once the student has built a strong foundation with me and is committed to the piano you can pay a lot more to someone else for piano lessons. I specalize in students who have specil needs such as ADHD and autism. I hope that you will come to me to start a life long love of music.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically start out with simple music theory, like learning the names of the notes learning to play simple songs. In time the student will increase their knowledge of music theory and besides simple songs and scales, be able to pick out "goal" peaces to work on over time that are more difficult.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied muisc theory, piano, and voice in college. Today, my full time job as an autism aide has given me the oppertunity work one on one with children who have special needs.
