About
Golf is meant to be something that is enjoyed and I enjoy teaching people the basics of the game that I have loved playing since I was 14.
I have competed in various tournaments throughout the last two plus decades. I qualified for the Texas Region 1 Golf Tournament while in high school and have since played on small tours around the Bay Area once I moved to Tampa in 2019. One of which, The Teebox Tour, I was on the winning team in the inaugural Ryder Cup for the flight I participated in.
I enjoy golf and I enjoy helping others learn the game that has given me so much over the years. Introducing people to golf and making sure they'll enjoy it for years to come is my goal when I teach golf.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Since I typically work with players who are starting out or have not been playing long, I watch them hit some at the driving range to get a feel for how they swing and look for anything that I could help fix, if needed. If the player has never played before, I teach them how to begin playing, i.e., grip, stance, address, swing, putting, chipping and ettiquite.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing golf for 26 years now and I feel that the golf swing is never a finished product. There are always methods or approaches that could be tried to improve the game, not only for the player but for the game itself. The course I grew up on in my hometown in Texas, we built from scratch and learning how the course was put together an maintained teaches you ways to approach the course when you're playing as well.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My rate breakdown is as follows:
First lesson is $60.
Each lesson thereafter would be $60hr
I do make exceptions on pricing, for instance if the player feels they are ready to attempt a round of golf, I will occompany them for their round and provide tips and strategy to help them through, almost like a caddy for their round. For this option it is a flat rate of 100$/round(typically 3-5hrs). (Disclaimer: I do not recommend instantly playing a round of golf after a lesson or two. Lessons at the driving range or putting green are a necessity to improving your game and having a good grasp of these skills is imperative to playing on the course.)
How did you get started teaching?
I have been coaching golf for my friends and coworkers for the last decade plus, I enjoy helping others learn the game and getting better. I briefly pursued teaching as a profession but I went into IT instead, but I have been teaching on the side as I can.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all types of students, from beginners who have never picked up a club, to seasoned vets who only needed tips to help them overcome a portion of their game that was giving them issues.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Helping my father in law fix his swing stands out to me recently. He was having trouble with club control and I showed him a method, that I use myself, to better control his swing tempo and pre-swing routine. The smile on his face after hitting his shot was amazing, I love moments like that, when something clicks after struggling with it.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Shop around and find someone who's philosophies match up with your own. If you don't like what you see from them, keep shopping.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Can you see what's wrong?
If you have a general idea of what you're seeing when you have an issue it greatly helps with attempting to correct the issue.
