Individual lessons given by an experienced teacher whose style of teaching is fun, laid back and encouraging. I love watching my students "get it" when a new concept clicks or when they've learned a song they've wanted to play. Nothing makes me happier than that. I celebrate the big and little accomplishments.
I've been teaching since 1988 and have taught in christian, catholic and private charter schools as well as having owned my own studio in Upstate New York with 9 teachers, over 200 students and 4 satellite programs. I've also taught in homeschool co-ops as well.
I was classically trained from the age of 5 yrs in private lessons until the age of 19. I started teaching when I was 23 years old.

I ask that students be at least 5 years of age to start piano/keyboard lessons and no younger than 7 to start voice lessons.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First step is for us to touch base about the age of the student and any past experiences taking lessons. It helps if a child has a learning issue to tell me about it ahead of time so I can tailor my teaching towards their specific needs.
Once I have the information I can offer the days I'm available and then we start lessons :)
