I have developed a teaching system that builds a strong foundation in theory. Students get to use the latest technology and music education software which makes learning fun. I work with each student personally and provide a curriculum that appeals to each personality and learning style. My students learn to read music and to play lead sheets. Students learn how to compose music and can record their compositions on a 16 track recording studio. Once they have saved their composition as a smf they can immediately see and hear their song played through Visual Music Tutor. Teaching is not only how I maybe a living, it is how I give my life meaning. I have been teaching for 26 years. I have created a teaching system that takes each student's learning style into account. I use the latest technology available to enhance the educational experience for each student. I also have a Facebook page listed under Note-ably Fun Piano Studio where you can see pictures and videos of students enjoying their lessons and the recitals. You can also look at reviews on yelp. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Students learn the location of ABCDEFG using a fun technique that makes it easy and ensures retention of the knowledge. Next I teach them about improvisation. On the first lesson students will be able to create their own music. Reading on the staff and reading lead sheets are next on the agenda.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied under the incredible composer Leatrice Frueh. She gave me my classical training that allowed me to compete and achieve superior markings. Next I went to USF. I have taught music at Libertas Academy and at Lake Carroll Baptist Church.
