Piano Lessons
About
I am originally from Omaha, Nebraska! I was classically trained at the Omaha Conservatory of Music spanning from 2004 to 2016 and have five years of in-home teaching experience! I am also classically trained in the Cello and play guitar, ukelele, and sing just for fun! I recieved a perfect score on the AP Music Theory test in highschool, participated in jazz band, marching band, and orchestra throughout highschool. After highschool, I moved to Tampa to pursue my bachelor's degree in public health at USF, and after a brief pause to focus on school, I am hoping to continue teaching!
I have experience with students from ages 4 to 17, and tailor my lessons and teaching style to suit their abilities, learning styles and musical interests. I have experience working with children who have developmental delays, learning disabilities, autism, and other unique conditions! I believe that every single person can benefit greatly from having music in their life!
I love working with children, and sharing my passion for music! I believe that every living being can benefit from being around music, and those that create music have not only a special skill, but also a mental challenge and a therapeutic outlet for emotional expression and stress relief! I love bringing music to homes and helping my students discover their own musical preferences and potential!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first assess their current skill set and talk to them and/or their parents about their intentions and goals for their piano education! I then recommend a book level for both lessons and theory to begin with, and find a piece that they are interested in working towards! I find out how they like to be praised and recieve feedback, how they best learn in school, and their personal interests! I believe that developing a personal understanding of the student helps to foster the student teacher relationship!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 12 years of classical piano education, 6 years of accompaniment experience, 4 years of jazz education, and 5 years of teaching experience!
I also play popular music by ear, and can help students learn to create their own interpretations based upon chord structure!
