Brett Walfish

Hi! I’m Dr. Brett Walfish, a professional violinist and violist with over 15 years of teaching experience. I recently relocated to the Wellington/Lake Worth area and am excited to welcome new students to my private studio.

I teach both violin and viola, working with students from complete beginners through advanced musicians preparing for youth orchestra, college auditions, and conservatory study. Every lesson is individualized, helping students build a strong technical foundation while developing confidence, creativity, and a genuine love of music.

I believe every child can succeed with the right guidance. My lessons emphasize healthy technique, effective practice habits, and making music enjoyable so students continue growing for years to come.

Parents often appreciate that I help with every step of getting started—from choosing the right size instrument to establishing realistic practice routines at home. Whether your child dreams of performing professionally or simply wants to discover the joy of playing, I strive to make every lesson encouraging, engaging, and rewarding.

I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Stony Brook University and have performed internationally as a chamber musician. My students have gone on to leading conservatories and universities, but just as importantly, I’ve had the privilege of helping many young beginners fall in love with music for the very first time.
