What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I determine the student's knowledge of music (if any), and select teaching materials designed for that level of knowledge and the student's age. Progress through the method books is based on the student's grasp of the material. With my love of and enthusiasm for music, I endeavor to make the learning process an enjoyable and rewarding experience for each student.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Bachelor of Music from the University of GA and hold national certification throught the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) I am a member of MTNA, Georgia MTA, Gwinnett County MTA, Georgia Federation of Music Clubs. Through these organization, I maintain my professional development by attending worshops, conferences, and teacher meetings. I received the 2017 Teacher of the Year Award and received the prestigious MTNA Fellow designation in 2011.
