What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process is learning the student ‘s favorite artist or song and tailoring my lesson around that song to teach music theory and musical concepts.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching piano 16 years ago as an extracurriculum class at Light of the World Christian School. Once I started, I learned thst I loved passing along the gift of music that my parents had given me.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with beginning piano students who have had absolutely no prior piano training to intermediate students. I have taught ages five up to late seventies in age.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Do not merely ask questions to see if the teacher is a fit, ask the teacher to play. The student will develop the sound of their teacher.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The student should evaluate if they are willing to put in the practice and work required to learn to play the piano.
