About
A native of New York, Bernard began his musical journey studying with the Sound Symphony’s concertmaster Wendy Fogel on Long Island, and soon began playing along side her in the symphony only a few years later. He also studied and performed at the USDAN Center for Performing Arts in New York during his high school summers, and again later on while attending the Crane School of Music at S.U.N.Y. Potsdam.
Bernard has had extensive string quartet experience while working with the Disney corporation and has also played in pit orchestras along the east coast for several musicals including Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story and Sweeney Todd in New York, as well as Ben-Hur in Orlando. Bernard has also performed in several regional orchestras in New York, North Carolina, Orlando and now Atlanta where he currently resides. Since moving to the area he has been a private violin instructor at Georgia State University and The Georgia Academy of Music, co-concertmaster of the Atlanta Philharmonic Orchestra as well as concertmaster of the Southeast Stonewall Music Festival Orchestra.
He now serves as principle second violinist in the Altanta Comerrata String Orchestra and is a member of the Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Juan Ramirez.
