Music has been a passion of mine for most of my life. Besides a teaching degree, my college studies included an unofficial music minor. Life application of my music has been through my offering of praise as a pianist and accompanist in the local church. While music has been my passion, my desire is for God to receive all the glory (Psalm 71:6c, “…my praise shall be continually of thee.” 1 Corinthians 10:31c, “…whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”). I have enjoyed private piano instruction as well as classroom teaching for more than thirty years, and my delight is in watching the progress in the lives of my students, both young and adult.Lesson Strategies~ The more you put into a lesson, the more you will get out of a lesson.~ Practice makes perfect, but perfect practice makes for perfect playing.~ A practice goal will be assigned each week, and incentives will be given to help achieve the goal.~ It is a must for students to practice no less than five times per week. Suggested time limits for practice will be set during lessons.~ For optimum success to be achieved, it is important that students be prepared for each lesson. Ultimately it is the parent’s responsibility to see that the student practices and is prepared for the weekly lesson.
