Greetings. My name is Van. I'm a musician and singer. I have over 25 years in voice and piano. My music back ground is gospel, classical, and R&B and jazz. I'm currently a Worship Pastor. I love leading my congreation in worship. Music is my life. Music is a universal language and I'm glad that I'm verse in this language. I love seeing the joy on the faces of the students that I teach.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first thing I always do is see where the student is in their craft. If I'm teaching singing I ask them to sing a song of their choice. If I'm teaching piano I ask them to play a song. I test their knowledge of piano and voice theory.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Music Major Kentucky State Universy.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My hourly rate is $40 and hour if you come to my address. If I have to travel to you it's $50 an hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching when I was a minister of music at my dad's church. He's a pastor. I started off teaching the choir in 1992. I have been in muic minister ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with rappers, piano players, singers, drummers and guiatar players.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I think the most recent event is my daughter being baptized. I think there is nothing more awesome than a parent's child giving their life to Christ.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advice woudl be follow your passion. Never give up. Know what you know. The things that you don't know learn them. What I mean by this is always be perfecting your gift. If there is something you don't know find the knowledge.
