About

I absolutely love teaching and I love piano! Mixing the two together has always been fun for me. I recently completed my Minor in Music with piano being my main instrument at the University of North Georgia and I plan to continue on with my education in music once I graduate with my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. I am so excited to be graduating in the Fall and I look forward to both working as a Nurse and teaching piano lessons to anyone who wants to commit to them.

I had not played piano for years and Brooklyn took her time to take an older student. She is an amazing teacher!!! She is a very precise with her instruction! And extremely patient. She is the best teacher I have had since my own mom. You will be very happy with her as your teacher.

Frequently asked questions

I like to meet with my student for the first time to assess their goals and previous knowledge before having an official lesson. This can simply be a 30 minute meeting (free) to talk about your aspirations, previous knowledge, set-backs, and obstacles that might be in your way.

I have 11+ years of piano lessons from three great teachers. I recently finished my Minor in Music at the University of North Georgia and plan to continue my music education after graduation. I also work closely with the previous Principal Percussionist of the Atlanta Symphony, Jack Bell, who has given me many insights on teaching methods and studio management along with rhythm and theory lessons.

I charge $1/min. While I like for all students to participate in an hour long lesson to allow for enough time to fit in a variety of concepts, I understand that timing may need to be varied based on age, goals, etc. So, a thirty minute lesson would be $30, a forty-five-minute lesson would be $45 dollars, an hour lesson would be $60, etc.

I got started teaching in high school when I was asked by some local parents to teach their two kids the basics of piano. From there I have had several students each year depending on what my schedule allows. Now that I am a senior, I am getting ready to set up my teaching studio more fully with more students than I've had previously.

I've worked with all age groups from 5 years old to 20 years old. I love working with both children and adults! I have also interned in a sixth grade band classroom with many different students.

Recently, a puppy showed up on my porch. After searching for his family and not finding any leads, we decided to keep him. We have since named him Koda Bear and he has become such a big part of our family!

I would suggest that you find a teacher that you get along well with while also pushing you just enough out of your comfort zone so you can see improvement. Lessons should be fun, but they are not always easy.

Think through the following: Do I have a few hours each week to spend time on learning for my lessons? Do I have enough funds to keep lessons consistent? What are my goals with lessons? What do I hope to gain from lessons? What are some unrealistic expectations I may have for lessons? What are some realistic expectations I have for my lessons? Am I ready to develop new habits?
