About

I offer vocal, trombone, and music theory lessons to students in a one on one setting at a comparable value for the market.

I have been involved in concert band, jazz band, marching band, and other instrumental settings since 2008. Additionally, I have been involved in vocal settings since 2004. I have been privaledged to participate in the University of Georgia Summer Music Institute, Georgia Music Educator's Association All State Men's Choir, and District Honor Bands and Choirs.

I have also served as the Minister of Music for two churches and built music programs from the ground up (both were singing from CD tracks when I was hired at both churches). Furthermore, I cofounded and serve as the assistant director of a community choir in Columbus, GA.

I will graduate with a BS of Music Education from Truett McConnell Universtiy in May 2019, and will be certified to teach music to students in Georgia in grades k-12.

I enjoy teaching music, because I believe music is important within any society. It is my desire for each of my students to grow as musicians, both in performance ability and in understanding of music theory.

Mr. King is an excellent music teacher. He makes monotonous things like music theory more fun with his sense of humor, and he makes me want to be bettr more because he’s so passionate about music himself.

    Frequently asked questions

I want to develop a personal relationship with my students and get to know them as individuals, rather than numbers (as other music teachers may). I will ask questions such as their hobbies, extracurriculars, and similar questions. I will also seek to understand their current abilities and skills. The first lesson will typically be spent with me gaining an understanding of the current musical abilities of my students by having them perform a piece they've worked on and learning the range of their voice or trombone by having the students perform pentatonic scales and similar exercises.
