Ms. Thompson is a second-generation music teacher with more than 30 years experience teaching private and group piano, voice, and music theory lessons. Her students range in age from 4 years to 75 years. In addition to teaching, she has performed in orchestras, choruses and as an accompanist or choral/ensemble director.
Having studied Music Education at Samford University and Music and Middle Grades Education at Kennesaw State University, she has acquired expertise in teaching at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
Ms. Thompson’s experience as a Music and Special Education paraprofessional has provided her with the ability and knowledge to work well with gifted students as well as those who progress at a slower pace. As a member of Cobb Conty Music Teachers Association and Georgia Music Teaches Association, her students have often participated in festivals and competitions receiving very high scores.
Although she has a classical approach to ensure students learn to read music well, she encourages students to learn all types of music, including things they enjoy and desire to learn to play. Ms.Thompson enjoys using her knowledge and expertise to assist students in reaching their full potential.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I evaluate any musical knowledge the student might already have. I choose a piano method based on age and ability. . For younger students , I invite oarents to accompany them to first lesson and as often as they wish after that. I provide them with a basic policy letter explaining all studio policies.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied Music Edivation at both Samford University and Kennesaw State University as well as Middke Grades Education at Kennesaw Stats University.

I change by the month due the first lesson of each month. Absences with advanced notice are made up in those months that have five weeks.
The pricing is based on one lesson per week but tell kessons are available to some students for additional cost

30 minutes lessons -$ 104.00/month
45 minute lessons -$ 156.00/month
60 minute lessons -$ 208.00/month
For group in person or online:
45 minute lessons - $ 104.00/month

How did you get started teaching?
My mother was a teacher abd started teaching me as a preschooler. She helped me get my forst students at age 15.
