Landon Mattox

Landon has played stringed instruments for nearly his entire life starting with violin at age 6, then guitar at age 14, then later in life, ukulele and bass. He received a bachelor’s degree in music in 2001 from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, a master’s degree in Jazz Studies in 2004 from the University of North Texas and a second master’s degree in Music Education in 2005 from the University of North Texas. He taught for about 3 years starting in 2007 in the jazz studies department of Xinghai Conservatory of Music which is located in Guangzhou, China teaching Jazz History, Improvisation, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Styles and Analysis and Jazz Guitar Performance.
