Shin Guitar Lessons
About
Growing up as a classically trained musician, I felt as if music has always had a barrier to entry. My goal is to lower those barriers and teach students the basics of guitar, the music theory needed to improve on their own, and the ability to jump in on any sort of "jam" comfortably.

Music has always been a passion and I have prior experience as a private education tutor. But teaching music sounds more fun than math doesn't it? lol.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first step is to figure out what a student's goal for guitar is and what their current skill level is. Are there specific songs you want to learn? Learn how to improvise? Learn to shred an awesome solo? After determining where your skill level is at, we begin learning the skills you need in order to reach said goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a classically trained musician, live performer, and multi-instrumentalist. I also have prior experience working as an english tutor.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard rate is 45 an hour, for groups, another 15 per person per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I was approached by a family friend to teach their children. From there my client base grew through word of mouth.
What types of students have you worked with?
Most of my students have been between the ages of 9 and 15, but I have taught older students ranging from 20-30
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Music is supposed to be fun and there are LOTS of different styles of music. Make sure you are learning what you like.
