About this pro

I have moved my teaching over to Skype and I'm currently on my 7th year of teaching online exclusively and a total of 24 years of teaching experience.  I really feel Skype is the new classroom for private lessons and to prove that I offer your FIRST LESSON FREE.

Since my lessons are on Skype I am able to reach anyone in the U.S. for quality lessons on high-speed internet.

The first lesson is free and I am always in communication with the student ahead of time learing about their current playing level, goals, age and the types of music they like.

My students are requesting a huge variety of genres such as: Pop, Metalcore, Country, Jazz, Funk, K-Pop, Blues, Reggae, Shred, Indie, Folk, Classical etc...as well as music theory, songwriting, improvisation, technique and note reading.  So basically Taylor Swift to Flamenco.

The free lesson insures that the internet connection is solid and the the student is comfortable.  We get a chance to meet each other and do some playing!

It is my job to relate to the student and make them happy providing a productive, focused and fun learning environment.

I enjoy seeing my students progress and reach their goals.  It is my job and responsiblity to put them on a productive path so they are gaining confidence as they advance.

Learning to play at whatever level is faced with challenges and I really enjoy being able to coach the student through difficult periods of learning and demostrating solutions to common obsticles a student will encounter as they learn.

It's very important for me to see that the student is challenged but not overwhelmed and that managelbe practice goals are set so the student actually enjoys the learning process.

Hello, I have been taking online guitar Skype lessons with Jeffrey for several years now. I learn new chord progressions every week and he writes out the music in easy to understand chord shape diagrams (tablature).

Jeff is a great guitar teacher for those interested in the fine details of playing the guitar, ukulele, or bass guitar. He writes all of the music for students BEFORE lesson times so that you spend all of your time learning. Jeff would also suit a student who is interested in developing their musical theory and will pace your workload with your dedication to the guitar. He offers a free trial lesson on his website and is very flexible with scheduling.

Taking lessons with Jeff has been one of the best decisions I've made in a while. I've been working with him for about 5 months now and I've seen more improvement in my guitar playing over that time than the past 11 years I've been playing. He's got the two crucial qualities that any good teacher must have: 1. Deep knowledge of the subject matter 2. Ability to connect with a student and present the information to them in a way they can understand I would recommend him to any guitar/bass/ukele player looking to get make serious improvements to their playing.

First, and most important, Jeff is an excellent teacher, knowing every technical aspect of what I am learning. He is able to explain the mechanics of how to do something in a way that makes sense. I have been taking Skype guitar lessons with Jeff for a number of years now. Previously, they were in person at the local music store. I work full time, and being able to turn the computer on and be at my music lesson saves me a lot of time. Having taken lessons both in person and through Skype, I prefer the Skype lessons, and have found that I am learning just as much in the Skype lessons as I did with the in person lessons. An amazing skill he has is to be able to take a tune I like, that is not played with the guitar, and translate it, making it not only a challenge, but fun and interesting to play on the guitar!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I offer a free lesson to make sure that I understand the students level and what it is they want to learn in lessons.  I have students who are playing as a hobby and putting in less practice time than my serious students.

It's my job as a teacher to focus the worksheets and lesson content based on each student's individual goals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Traditional and modern music theory, rhythmic studies, 4 years of private study with Ted Greene.  I am very curious about all stlyles of music and like to figure out the theory behind it.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Yes, I have a discounted structure for my lessons:

1 single 30 minute lesson = $30.00
