About
Welcome! I have been teaching the piano for over 5 years, starting with my younger brother and gradually receiving more and more students. The ages of my students were between 5 and 14 (though I am comfortable teaching any age) and all my lessons were one-on-one. The most important quality of my teaching is that I use an individual approach to every student. I am very attentive to the needs of my students and I love to find solutions to any difficulty that they might have!
I also offer a variety of topics for learning. In addition to playing the piano, my students and I work on theory, technique, rhythm, notation, and many other music-related topics. We truly delve into the music world by playing pieces from different genres!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I ask students to show what they know and can play. It can be anything. It is very important for me to find this first connection. After determining the student's level, I choose the most appropriate teaching books I have for their level. Over time, I would add such aspects as playing scales, learning theory (if desired), etc.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started playing the piano when I was six and went to the Music School for Gifted Musicians in Ukraine. During all this time, I participated in many music festivals and competitions, meeting various professors and gaining tremendous experience. After moving to the United States, I was a Fellow at the Academy of the Music Institute of Chicago, a training center for advanced pre-college musicians. I studied piano with Jose-Ramon Mendez. At this moment, I am a Peabody Conservatory student studying with Benjamin Pasternack.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing system primarily depends on the level of the student as well as the length of the lesson. There might be some deviation, but in general, my pricing system is as follows:
30 minutes - $30
45 minutes - $40
60 minutes - $50
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching piano first to my brother in 2018. I immediately felt that it was something I truly enjoyed. Therefore, I was happy to soon receive new students and continue teaching.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students ages 6-14. Their levels were from Beginner to Intermediate. I would be happy working with adults as well, though. I am confident my skills and approach would be appropriate for everyone.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would suggest hiring a teacher who is supportive, knowledgeable, and comfortable to work with. It might be hard to find such a teacher immediately, but it is definitely worth the effort.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
If a student has a problem playing something, one of the best questions they can think before talking to their teacher is "Did I spend enough effort and time to try to solve this problem myself?"
