About
El Rey Music Center has been an Arlington Heights icon since 1947. El Rey provides private instruction for guitar, bass, drums, vocals, keyboard, mandolin, banjo, ukulele and even harmonica, at all levels. Our instructors are all active musicians in the Chicagoland area and have years of performing experience. El Rey also helps younger students form their own bands and perform in front of large crowds at local music venues.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
At El Rey Music Center, our goal is to provide music lessons with qualified teachers in a positive environment that fosters lifelong appreciation and pursuit of music. And since we understand that lessons times occasionally conflict with special school or family events, we DO offer makeup lessons (unlike many other area schools) according to the guidelines below. It is important to us that both our clients' and our teachers' time be respected. Following the guidelines below not only helps to keep our staff and instructors sane, but also promotes steady progress for the student!
● MONTHLY PRICING (WEEKLY, HALF-HOUR LESSONS)
⦿ 4-Week Month: $100
⦿ 5-Week Month: $117
⦿ Payment is due in full on or before the first scheduled lesson of each month.
⦿ Cash, Check, Visa, and Mastercard are accepted.
⦿ No Refunds
• MISSED AND RESCHEDULED LESSONS
⦿ One make-up lesson per month is available for a missed or rescheduled lesson.
⦿ Make-ups may not be accrued: they must be used by the end of the following month.
⦿ Tuition is not reduced for any missed or rescheduled lessons.
⦿ If a lesson is missed, it is the student's or parent's responsibility to schedule a makeup.
⦿ Make-ups are subject to normal El Rey business hours and teacher availability. Although we will make every effort, make-ups may or may not be with
your regularly scheduled instructor.
⦿ If a makeup is missed or cancelled, no refunds or additional make-ups will be given.
⦿ We have a "No Call-No Show" policy: In fairness to our teachers, no makeups will be offered unless the student or parent gives 24 hours' notice of an absence.
⦿ Teacher and time slot may be reserved for extended absences. Inquire for details.
