About this pro

Hello! My name is Melina and I am a 21 year old, fairly new teacher with a passion for music! I've been playing piano since I was a little girl and have been teaching for about 3 years now. With a degree in music from JJC, I am confident in my ability to teach music and share the love I have for it! I've recently began teaching independently without help of a music studio. I'm on here to reach more students to build my clientele! I'm currently teaching on Zoom because of covid cautions but will eventually be able to do in home lessons at your home or mine!

I can teach beginner up to beginner intermediate and am always teaching what the student wants to learn. I guarantee that I can help you achieve whatever you want!

You can sent me a message me at my cell number 1(815)342-0091 or email [email protected]

I love seeing my students learn not only how to play piano, but what they love about playing the instrument. I love seeing an interest in music and being able to open them up to things they may have not heard before!

Melina is always helpful when you are having trouble understanding something and she is a very patient teacher! She’s very caring and kind as well. I would recommend her as a piano teacher👍

Melina is an excellent beginner piano instructor. I used her services with my daughter and she has been great at teaching her the fundamental skills of the piano.

I feel like I've made a lot of progress that I didn't make with other teachers. It's really motivating, and Melina does a great job of helping me with whatever I need to work on. I really couldn't be more thankful.

Melina is patient and kind. She takes her time to ensure students understand and learn more than just the notes. My daughter loves working with Melina.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I always ask what my new student wants to achieve. We can then go from there and create a unique plan to make sure they can work on what they please, without unnessary practices that might deter them away from the joys of piano!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have an associates degree in arts, with a focus in music; and a certificate for music technology. I have been teaching at a music studio for about 3 years but recently decided to go independent!

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge $20/ half hour lesson. Hour long lessons would be double ($40)

For now, because of covid-19, lessons will be held on Zoom, there won't be any cancelation fees.

Once I start traveling I will charge half of the lesson fee ($10/half hour or $20/hour) if lesson is not cancelled at least one day ahead! This excludes emergencies.
