Pospeshil/Farwell Music

Pospeshil-Farwell Music (formerly Pospeshil Performing Arts) provides the finest in fretted instrument and vocal instruction. Martin (Marty) Pospeshil-Guitar, Bass, Ukulele and Music Theory-has been playing the guitar since he was a teenager in the 60's. Through the years he has become fluent in musical genres such as Rock, Jazz, Blues and Folk Music. He has studied under such guitar luminaries as Muriel Anderson, Lil' Rev and Preston Reed. Marty has been teaching for 30+ years and has watched his students go on to be accomplished guitarists in their own right. He has presented workshops on The Blues at the Make Our Own Music gatherings to critical acclaim. He currently performs in a Pop/Jazz duo.

Jeanine Farwell-Voice Instruction- is a classically trained vocalist who has sung throughout Europe and the United States as well as singing First Soprano in the Beth-El choir. Over the past 20+ years she has made the crossover from classical singing to Pop, Rock and Jazz by studying under the expert tutelage of Robert Bowker and Ronald Combs in Chicago. She has been the lead vocalist in the experimental music band Millennium, and the Pop/Rock band Emotional Shock, where she was also the primary lyricist. She is currently the vocalist in a Pop/Jazz duo.

Pospeshil-Farwell Music strives to provide an environment for our students, young and old, that is fun, yet challenging, in an effort to move the student through a musical journey that will give the student a feeling of growth, accomplishment and fulfillment.

We work with the students on vocal and instrument technique to improve their singing and playing skills, then take the newly learned skills and apply them to popular songs. In choosing the performance material for our students we are careful in choosing material that is age appropriate both in content and difficulty.

in addition to teaching the students the mechanics of singing and playing an instrument, we mentor the students in the art of performance-what it takes to express yourself creatively while performing live music-the mechanics of singing into a microphone, connecting with the audience and developing self confidence on stage.

We encourage our students to experience and support live music as often as possible by attending school concerts, local theatre productions and band performances.
