Angelo Nottoli is a private instructor and composer based in Chicago, IL known for his involvement within the independent film community and live instrumentation works. His musical styles range from classical, avant-garde, hip-hop, rock, jazz, and pop.
Throughout Angelo's music career, he has ventured into many musical facets to broaden his perception and development of his musical craft. After graduating from Columbia College with a bachelor's degree in Music in 2014 he has written music for many independent films across the country. In addition to his film composition, he also has accomplished writing a violin concerto and arranging music for members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Currently, Angelo is working with Beyond Limits Media Group as a Senior Lead Program Facilitator. In this role, his mission is to help the inner-city students of Chicago gain access to the recording arts set to uplift and spread positivity to their neighborhoods. Furthermore, Angelo is a private music instructor teaching guitar, piano, music production, and composition. During these sessions he crafts lesson plans to the student's interests and prepares them to be the best artist they can be.
In his future endeavors, he plans on continuing to compose and teach music connecting with new students all throughout Chicago. Lastly, Angelo hopes to bring Chicago together through music and education.
Angelo has a strong passion and enjoyment of connecting with his students through the music they love. Students always have a lot to say and express what is on their minds. Furthermore, it is always a great experience when Angelo gets to learn from the students. Music is a very complex subject; Angelo is very open to new concepts and ideas brought on by the students.
Most of all, nothing is more exciting than seeing a student overcome challenges or mastering material. The satisfaction of witnessing their accomplishment is a great overwhelming feeling. It is Angelo's job to do everything he can to bring success to the student's aspirations and goals.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It is a great pleasure to work with new students. Everyone learns differently and it is very important to get to know them. Firstly, Angelo will ask them a few questions about themselves. What kind of music do you enjoy? What kind of experience do you have with music? Who do you admire in music? Secondly, they play major scale on the instrument of their choice. Lastly, after the accomplishment of learning their first major scale, they play their first song.
What types of students have you worked with?
Through the many years of private teaching, Angelo has worked with a wide variety of students. Some ranging from the age to six years old to the age of eighty. There is never an age limit on learning a new skill or developing a craft. He has also had students who wanted to learn more than one style on their instrument, or multiple instruments within one style. Angelo is here to accommodate the student's needs and accomplish all of their goals.
