About
Hey All,
My name is April Vargo and here's a little bit about who I am and what I do.....
I left the conventional classroom to open my own business - one that would inspire both children and adults, encourage collaboration, and allow people to grow their passions. I am passionate about music, theatre, and education. I am fortunate to get to work in the field I love while helping others do what they love.
I provide opportunities to participate in music and theatre in a virtual capacity globally. I design and teach group classes and private instruction. I write curriculum for teachers to institute into their own classrooms.
Play.Sing.Act, LLC has people participating from nationally from coast to coast as well as individuals living in various countries outside of the U.S. I am continuously growing programs and gaining more students. The ability to combine music, theatre, education and technology is giving opportunities back to people regardless of location or resources available in their particular region. I am so fortunate to be able to have met some amazing people and am looking forward to continuously growing my network.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I have students fill out a form before we start working together trying to see what it is they are looking to get out of lessons, what goals they are working towards, and what experience level they have. I work with students at various ages, children through adults who are beginners through working musicians and actors. It's important for me to get to know my students from day one so I can help them to achieve their desired goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified music teacher with ten years of experience. I own and run my own business, direct live theatre, and perform when time permits.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes.....I offer two different packages to students:
1. Coaching As You Go $28.00 per 30 minutes. Purchase lessons as you want or need them. Perfect for people with busy or constantly changing schedules.
2. Monthly Lessons $105.00 per 30 minutes meeting once a week on the same day and time for a month (4 lessons).
Lessons can be made into hour sessions or more by purchasing as many 30 minute segments as you like or need.

What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children ages 5 through adults ages 55. I have taught students in the US, Canada, Singapore, and Australia. I work with students who use music and theatre as a part of their career, some who just want to have fun and learn something new, and others who have used it for therapeutic purposes.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I just recently had the opportunity to direct Legally Blonde the Musical. It was such a fun, upbeat show, one of which I had wanted to direct for quite a while. It was a great experience.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would tell any student it is important to connect with the teacher you are working with and make sure that both of you are on the same page.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1. How serious am I about lessons?
2. What do I want to get out of the experience?
3. Do I have time to practice and commit?
4. Am I open to feedback and trying a different approach?
