About
I love teaching....and I think my approach is a bit different. I don't t teach one piece after another year after year.....I try to teach my students how to teach themselves, so that after some time, they can pick up a new piece of music and learn it on their own. I achieve this by incorporating theory, ear training, and sight reading into the lessons. I also work with them on technique, and teaching how to practice most efficiently.
Nothing makes me happier than watching my students progress....it is really exciting to see them moving on to more challenging music. Their pride in their achievements is beautiful to see.
Giving students the tools to allow them to experience the joy of making music is so very gratifying. Sharing my love of music is my biggest reward!
My first piano teacher was a graduate of Juilliard. She was wonderful, and after five years, she recommended I continue my studies at Juilliard in the preparatory division. I continued my studies there through high school, and then four years in the Bachelor of Science program. So from the age of twelve until I graduated from Juilliard, I was privileged to have studied with the most amazing teachers I could have imagined. Everything I learned from all those wonderful teachers I try to pass along to my students, as well as opening their eyes, ears and imagination to the wonders of music.
