Piano Lessons With Elizabeth Fleisher

I have been teaching for over 45 years, beginning in Chicago in the 1960s in Hyde Park and then moving to Columbus, Ohio where I have taught individual and class piano lessons. I welcome students from very young beginners to retired adults who wish to further their musical skills. I believe that everyone can learn and enjoy music. I feel for many people it is a release from the stresses of daily life and a chance to develop skills that allow them to express their creative side. Having been very fortunate to have some of the best teachers in London, England where I did my undergraduate work, I would like to share these experiences with my students. I believe that the private piano teacher can be a very influential guide to a student’s view of the world through music. Since I have taught so many years I believe that I have an understanding of the needs and desires of young and older students, and I love helping them achieve their goals. Many of my students have been prize winners and others have benefited from the musical exposure to become ardent music lovers and concert goers. Yet others have used music in their careers such as teaching. I believe that everyone can learn, and I try to set up doable goals for each of my students. Many of my students have come to me at ages 5-8 and stayed through high school. I have developed a wonderful rapport with them, even when they have gone on in their lives to pursue other careers. I believe in introducing students to all styles of music including jazz, classical, popular, and musicals. Some of my students have gone on to pursue careers in jazz and other non-classical forms.
