Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
85.00 per hour; 115.00 per hour and a half for individual lessons; Chamber Music Session of four months, 325.00; Intense Mentoring Program of one year in length for advanced students available upon request.
How did you get started teaching?
I started in high school with neighborhood kids asking to study with me and this led to nearly continuous teaching over three decades and continues into the present.
What types of students have you worked with?
Dedicated adults and teens intermediate level and above (at least 5 years of study) , especially those with an interest in chamber music and orchestral playing.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Being a faculty member from 2012-17 at the Interharmony International Music festival in Arcidosso and Aqui Terme, ITALY.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Have an in-depth discussion with the teacher to see if your temperament and commitment level match the philosophy and intensity of the studio you are considerig joining.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
If you can imagine playing the violin or viola 5-6 days per week for the next 10 years and beyond, the process will be incredibly rewarding. If you give up easily or change passions frequently, these instruments are not for you.
