About
I am a violist in Chicago Symphony Orchestra. As well as teaching I have been working with many of the major US orchestras, as well as performing with chamber ensembles in the US and Asia. I have a bachelor's and master's degree in Violin. I was pursuing doctorate degree in Violin and Viola as a double major, before I won my orchestral job in Chicago.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically I spend some time getting to know the student through conversation, where we can discuss what their goals are, as well as how much time they can commit to practise. That way I can come up with a teaching strategy which will be of a suitable workload for the student, with the right balance of technical and musical elements.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelors degree from Seoul National University, Korea, Masters degree and Graduate diploma New England Conservatory, Boston, Artist Diploma Rutgers New Jersey State University.
I am fluent in English and Korean.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching high school music majors during my time at Seoul National University, and continued when I came to the US, becoming a teaching assistant whist at Rutgers.
I have taught students of all ages, from young beginners to college age and young professionals.
