Taisiya Sokolova is a violinist and a violist who is equally experienced soloist, chamber musician, and an orchestra player. She is currently a Violist of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Taisiya received her masters degree in music performance from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, and is currently a Doctorate Candidate at Boston University.
Taisiya has been teaching Violin and Viola lessons for a decade. She has been teaching students of all ages and levels. She starts children as young as 4 years old, and also teaches adults of all abilities. Taisiya also specializes in teaching serious, competitive students. In her teaching, Taisiya combines Mimi Zweig system, Suzuki system, and the Russian violin school.
As a musician and an artist, she enjoys instilling love for playing an instrument and music, while also setting a healthy and proper foundation to let the students experience the instrument pain free, and allow a life long journey with the instrument.
