About this pro

My teaching approach: I approach each student individually in regards to how I teach. Every musician is different, and something unique to share. I try to draw that out. Whether you are just starting, or you need a nudge to get going in a new direction, I'll be there to bring you into focus. My influences are: Miles Davis, Beethoven, and RadioheadMy guitar lessons take place in: The teacher's studioGuitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours: I have scattered hours and half-hours available on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Please contact me for a current schedule of availability.Guitar Techniques: Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Fingerstyle, Vocal Accompaniment, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Song Writing, Recording and Production, Guidance In Equipment SelectionYour first guitar lesson with me might include the following: For every one of my students who has any experience in music at all, I try to see where they are at with their playing, or at least with their understanding of music. For beginners, I like to get them playing a song by the end of their first lesson - it's very empowering to go from no musical ability to actually playing a real song in such a short time!A guitar lesson with me might entail the following: Just as every student is different, every lesson is different. Some weeks a student might want to work on new music...some weeks a student might want to go over something old. I begin every lesson with an open mind, and we take it from there! The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following: I like a student who above all else is honest with themselves. When a student knows what they want out of their playing, and is willing to take my suggestions to get there, they can progress surprisingly quickly.
