Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:
For every one of my students who has any experience in music at all, I try to see where they are at with their playing, or at least with their understanding of music. For beginners, I like to get them playing a song by the end of their first lesson - it's very empowering to go from no musical ability to actually playing a real song in such a short time!
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:
Just as every student is different, every lesson is different. Some weeks a student might want to work on new music...some weeks a student might want to go over something old. I begin every lesson with an open mind, and we take it from there!
The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:
I like a student who above all else is honest with themselves. When a student knows what they want out of their playing, and is willing to take my suggestions to get there, they can progress surprisingly quickly.
