Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We start with the phone conversation to determine what a student is looking for and what expectations they have. Where we go from there is to customize the upcoming lessons to meet those expectations.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 30 years in the Martial Arts, with over 20 as an instructor. I am also a CPR and First Aid Instructor.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing is dependent upon student needs and the number of students being taught.
How did you get started teaching?
Began teaching in 1997 as a way to help my mentor and instructor rehab from a surgical procedure.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from all walks of life and all ages. From private citizens looking to learn self-defense to security, law endormecement and even military looking to enhance their skill sets.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Trust is the most important thing in learning martial arts. You must find a teacher that you trust and are comfortably with so that the process can be productive. That starts with being specific about your goals and understanding what you hope to accomplish within the martial arts.
