What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Establishing a musical relationship built around fundamentals and each of our influences.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Teaching experience includes public and private after school music programs around the Chicago, and over 7-years of private lessons (voice, piano/keys, guitar, drums, bass, and ukulele) and show directing at School Of Rock.
Education includes Columbia College Chicago Jazz program ('03)
Northeastern Illinois Music Education and Performance ('05)

What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all ages - and honestly enjoy the experience of connecting people of all experiences to their instrument and their personal musical inspiration. Finding consistency through fundamentals and exploring influences - as well as being exposed to new music - is important for all skill levels!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently played my first gig back since the pandemic shut-downs at a video gaming convention and it felt so great to rock out in front of a crowd again!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Every teacher is on their own musical journey, finding common musical ground to occupy will create trust - and sharing influences and inspirations will create the adventure needed to find a healthy, consistent practice.
