About

I am a recent graduate in Piano Performance from the Jacobs School of Music. Whether you want to learn a few Disney tunes or a Beethoven sonata, I am excited to work on your project together, and help achieve your goals!

During the past two years, I have been an associate instructor in secondary piano at IU, where I was entrusted with undergraduate group classes and private students. Since high school, I have worked with a lot of talented students from 3 to 30. During our lessons, we enjoy a lot of interactive activities and I really enjoy making progress together and growing together with my students.

As a musician, I am also actively seeking to grow. In 2019, I was named the alternate for the State of Indiana in the MTNA Competition. As a firm believer in positive social changes through arts and humanities, I have been engaged in performances and outreach programs in Bloomington. Besides collaborating with the ballet department, I have also worked with local organizations for benefit concerts, outreach performances and service-learning programs.

During my years of teaching, I have found a lot of satisfaction as I witness the growth of my students. I am especially proud to see them grow from absolute beginners to great pianists with their own artistry. Getting to know each student, and help them achieve their goals brings a lot of joy!

Frequently asked questions

We would always start with a sample lesson to get a feeling of working together. We will talk about goals, musical background, as well as your interests and focus together.

It is really about getting to know each other and seeing what would work best for both parties.

I just graduated from Indiana University (Bloomington) with a Performer's Diploma and I am enrolled as a doctoral student at the Univeristy of Toronto.

Previously, I studied at the Manhattan School of Music, Temple University (Masters of Music) and University of Richmond.

Online set-up is great and I am also happy to travel with a small fee.

I first started as a piano teacher in high school. Then, after studying abroad for a semester, I had a special opportunity of working with new immigrant families. From first learning the alphabet to eventual fluency in English, witnessing their progress in the language, hand-in-hand with their assimilation to the new culture, was one of the most fulfilling experiences. During our time together, it was clear that education was not only about knowledge to them, but potentially a whole different life outlook. That's when i realized the power of education and decided I want to be a professor.

After college graduation, I decided to go after my music dream, and went to Philadelphia for a masters. With music as my life, I have enjoyed giving piano lessons and seeing my students grow.

Since high school, I have worked with students from toddlers to adults, in various part of the world.

During the past two years, I was an associate instructor at IU, where I was entrusted with undergraduate group classes and private students.

I have also gotten a chance to work with younger kids, where we would include a lot of interactive activities to build an all-round musical development.

Outside of piano teaching, I was part of an outreach music appreciation program at a senior home. And i really enjoyed my time there!
