String Quest Studio's

I have been playing guitar for 20 years. I started teaching guitar about 5 years ago. I love to teach! It is such an awesome feeling when a student comes back, plays, and sings a song you have just taught them! I took lessons from one of the music stores for a short time, after 6 weeks I had learned the notes on the first string and how to play Beethovens, "Ode to Joy". I have to admit, I got bored and quit! Because of this I have several lesson plans that teach songs as well as chords and scales. Songs that you want to learn! It is a mixture of work and fun. I enjoy teaching one on one and I also enjoy group lessons.

My wife and I had a summer party five years ago and the band we hired backed out at the last minute, so I ended up playing guitar and singing throughout the party. After the party my neighbor came to me and said "my son and I would like to play guitar with you sometime". I told him I had Tuesday nights open and we began playing every Tuesday night. At first, I knew about 40 songs and they knew their basic chords & maybe a couple songs all the way through. After only one year, we played 4 hours worth of music at our next summer party! Believe it or not, we had learned to play over a hundred songs in one years time! We started in my office with some songs on paper, then songs on my laptop, now I have designed a Power Point Slide Show that I display on Teleprompters.

If you are a beginner, we will start with a simple song. We will also start working on basic chords and scales. Most students can go home and play a song after just the first lesson!

Once you are proficient with a few songs we will play them along with my band in our practice session. Later, even play out live with us at a gig! If that is something you would enjoy.

If you don't own a guitar, I have a loaner guitar you can use to start off with. After you have taken a few lessons we will decide what type of guitar you should get. I will assist in your selection if necessary.

I have a studio where we put bands together to play, I rent the space for other bands to practice. We can record live as your band plays together or up to 32 Channels individually.
