About
I have extensive experience teaching all levels. I am also the principal violist of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra. Though I specialize in Classical music, I have experience in many genres, including rock, jazz, country, and even bluegrass.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge with students and seeing their enthusiasm about how much they are improving.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process involves asking the student to play something for me that they are comfortable with so I can evaluate them according to technical and musical criterion such as tone, bow technique, intonation, rhythm and facility. I assess what their strong and weak points are and proceed from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have bachelors and Masters degrees in violin performance along with extensive study of violin pedagogy and over 20 years of teaching experience from beginner to collegiate levels.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard rate is $30 for half an hour and $60 for an hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching while I was still in college because it was a requirement of my pedagogy class and I have done it ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students as young as three and as old as 96. I have worked with all levels from beginner to advanced.
