Melissa Burdett Lamb Music Studio
About
I love my "job". I will teach for as long as I'm able. Each student and their family deserve and require my very best. It's important to me to learn how each student learns best so that I can make an individual lesson plan for each. I strive to think outside the box. If a student learns better with book knowledge we approach that way. If they learn by listening then we build around that approach. I was taught by wonderful teachers who deeply instilled my love and passion for music. I want to pass that on to my students.
I thoroughly enjoy watching students with no self confidence develop into thriving musicians and confidence in often in other areas of their life. Music is a healer and it is a "language" all people can relate to.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to meet with the student to get to know them and their musical interest and background. I bring more than one starting book to see how they respond or adapt to the different learning styles.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught lessons since I was in college studying vocal performance and minoring in piano. I have taken piano lessons since I was six and voice from 14 years old. I have taught Kindermusik(music for children birth to age 7. I spent all of those years performing in some way myself and also providing performance and competitive opportunities for my students.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Since Covid 19, most of my students prefer I go to their home which I do and is working well. I charge $30 per half hour and $5 for gas per lesson/student.
