Murphy Piano Studio

Hello, my name is Steve Murphy, and I'm a piano teacher living in Indianapolis, Indiana. I teach all ages of students. My style of teaching is very personal, and I try to accentuate a students natural talents as they learn and grow in music. A piano student is encouraged to practice each day and to perform at least twice a year at a recital.

I perform and teach all styles of music including pop, jazz, and classical. I can be found playing piano at Ralph’s Great Divide on Thursday Nights, and playing for church at St. Michael's Episcopalian Church on Sundays.

I'm also a composer, and have written scores for theatre performances in Indiana and New York State. I have a Master of Music from Ithaca College Conservatory and a Bachelor of Music from State University of New York at Fredonia.
