What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always give first lesson free as a 'Meet & Greet'. During that time I listen to what the students goals are, assess, explain my teaching method and what I can do to help the students achieve their goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken 10 years of private lessons starting at age 5. I then transitioned into highschool music classes and jazz band at Hamilton Southeastern and Fishers Highschool. I have been teaching lessons since age 17.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students starting from pre-K to 55 years of age. Most of my students have been beginners, though some come through with experience that just needed temporary tutoring to achieve a short term goal.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find an instructor you are comfortable with sharing your goals and dreams! Someone you feel will help you conquer what you set out to do!
