About
I love piano and I love to teach! I have taught piano and keyboard lessons for many years to students who have ranged from 5 years old to senior citizens in their 80's. My students have been those whose parents consider learning music as part of their education, and those who went on to graduate with a musical degree, or who just wanted to play for their own enjoyment. Some learn to play to follow a dream, and some want to be able to play for church. I teach theory and technique along with every lesson. My style is relaxed and fun while being musically and technically correct. Lessons are at my home in Portage IN.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to learn who my student is, what he or she is interested in, to introduce myself so that we are comfortable together. If the student is a beginner we take the time to talk about the value of music and what it can mean to us. We sometimes play some music related games. We try to make each lesson enjoyable while learning details.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've had many years of private conservatory training, plus 40 years of teaching experience and 40 years of church musicianship.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $80.00 per month, which covers 4 1/2 hour lessons. If longer lessons are desired 4 45-minute lessons would be $100.00 per month.
How did you get started teaching?
I always intended to teach piano. It came as natural to me as breathing, and I believe God led me in that direction. I love my students!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught students from 4 years old to seniors who were 80.
