Aplomb Martial Arts Of Parkville
About
We are a small, locally owned and operated martial arts school that specializes in teaching Kempo, Kickboxing and Tai Chi through personal training.
We work with students of all ages and abilities. The beauty of teaching through personal training is we can tailor a program specifically for you - to meet your goals and desires, and at your fitneness level. We start students as young as 3 years old and teach kids, teens and adults.
Developing an individualized program for each person is at the core of our teaching, and is our passion. Private lessons enable students to learn more, and progress faster than through large group classes alone. Watching students gain confidence, strength, and the ability to defend themselves is our "WHY".

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When a student first comes in, we have them fill out a waiver form that includes what their goals are, if they have ever taken martial arts before, if they have any physical or mental limitations, etc. From there we are able to tailor a program to fit their goals. It could be learning Kempo, a mixture of Tai Chi and Kempo, or Cardio-Kickboxing, and we even have a youth conditioning class. Because we do private lessons, there are so many options available.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a black belt in both Kempo and Tae Kwan Do. I have studied martial arts for over 15 years, and have been teaching for over five years. I also train under my Master twice a week to maintain and sharpen my skills and abilities.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We offer month to month programming or contracts of three, six, twelve or twenty-four months. We also have a Black Belt Program.
How did you get started teaching?
After studying martial arts for many years, I had the opportunity to open my own dojo and bring the magic of Martial Arts to Parkville and surrounding areas.
What types of students have you worked with?
We work with students of all ages (3+) and abilities (children, teens and adults).
