Ron Lewerke Guitar Lessons
About
My teaching approach:
I'm a lifelong lead guitarist (having played guitar for 42 years) and songwriter. I toured the midwest from the late-70's to the mid-90's, opened for Foreigner, showcased the Whisky in LA for producer Tom Werman. I've written and recorded several albums' worth of material ranging from metal to new age. Currently doing a solo project. Guitars- Jackson Dinky Reverse; 1976 Gibson Flying V; Alvarez accoustic, no-name bass guitar My approach to music- use what I would teach you to develop your own creative style; to find your own musical niche; to write your own music. And of course, to have FUN!
My influences are:
Jimi Hendrix, Michael Schenker, Paul Gilbert, Alan Barinson (of Alan Parsons Project), and generally any of the top 70s-80's rock lead guitarists
My guitar lessons take place in:
The teacher's studio

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:
I would start by my asking you some questions- what is it you want to get out of guitar lessons? Is there a playing style or a certain player or genre that you want to emulate? Have you previously taken lessons, and if so, how far did you get with them? I would then try to establish some realistic and doable goals.
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:
Are you comfortable with the current pace of your progress? Are you ready to tackle this week's lesson? And then, we would proceed.
The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:
One who is open to ideas, is patient, and has the determination to stick with it. And again, to realize that first and foremost, to have fun.
