About

I’m 22 years old, and have been playing guitar for about 10 years. I can teach students of any age, and will custom tailor my approach to whatever the student wants to learn. I can play and teach a wide variety of genres, anywhere from blues to metal

I have solid theory knowledge and am an experienced musician that has played with dozens and dozens of other musicians of all skill levels.

I love playing and teaching guitar and bass! Honestly it is the thing that makes me happiest in the world.

Frequently asked questions

I think that the MOST important thing about teaching music is to teach what each student wants to know. Of course there are things they may not be aware of that will be helpful, and I will cover those as well, but I will always try my best to make lessons fun and to make sure that students are progressing at the rate that they want to.

I have years of experience in the field, and I have taken many music lessons from several different teachers. I have not been formally trained, but I have a strong background in music theory and the skills needed to play guitar or bass in a band.

I generally charge $20 for a standard 30 minute lesson, but if that is not affordable I am flexible. If there is driving involved that will also be a consideration one way or the other, as I do live in Lawrence.

I’ve been teaching several of my friends for years, and I’ve enjoyed watching them progress so much that I think it would be fun to teach strangers too!

Mostly students around my age, who are either total beginners or intermediate players. However I am pretty good with kids, and I also think that no one is EVER too old to start learning a musical instrument.

I saw Yonder Mountain String Band at the Bottleneck last night, and it was awesome!

Find someone who will teach you what you want to know!!!! Lessons should be about the student, not the teacher!! I’m just here to point you in the right direction and teach you things you might not find easily searching on your own.

1. What type of music/songs/artists do you like?

2. How much time do you want to spend each day/week playing or practicing?

3. What are your goals?

4. How do you think I can help you most?
