About
I teach music in a holistic way that cultivates creativity and a deep understanding of music theory. We study music like it's a language, and learn to creatively play with sound using color and geometry. Students learn simple pieces, and then as their skills grow, we circle back to the simple pieces and play them in more complex ways. Students are supported in their home practice through a practice program that rewards them for improving, and my students have opportunities to learn from and inspire each other.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Of course, it depends on whether the student has had music lessons before. If they have, I listen to what they have already learned and assess the skills they have gained. If they are new, I teach them a piece of music that fits their cognitive stage. I show them how we will use color and geometry to understand music theory, preview the skills we'll explore, and establish the parameters of our practice program.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been teaching for 18 years. I studied piano and violin privately growing up. I can work with students to the mid-intermediate level on both instruments.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lessons with me are $25/week for a 30-minute lesson, $35/week for a 45-minute lesson, and $45/week for an hour lesson. I only teach in my students' homes.
