About
I hear from my students and families that what they like best about my studio is my ability to teach uniquely to each individual, taking into account each personality, learning style, and experience. My students say they have so much fun while learning how to play the instrument, how to be a better musician, and how to transfer all of the life lessons learned through practice and performance to their everyday lives.
The best part of my work is my connection with the students! When they begin to understand that music is more than just notes on the page, when they realize that articulation, tone, dynamics, and timing all play a part in the big picture of making music beautiful, then I am fulfilled!

Frequently asked questions
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I did undergraduate work on the violin and graduate work on piano, both at the University of Washington in Seattle. I have been a freelance musician since graduating, playing concerts (classical, pop, rock), weddings, receptions, banquets, and other special occasions. I started teaching in 1985 and discovered that I love it!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
30 minute lessons are $25.
45 minute lessons are $37.50.
60 minute lessons are $50.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with students ages 6 through adult, beginners to advanced.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would recommend having a trial lesson with each teacher you are considering. Finding the right personality fit is just as important as finding someone who is highly qualified. I do not charge for a 30 minute trial lesson.
