I have been playing professionally and teaching for 15 years within a diverse range of genres from rock, blues, jazz to acoustic and classical. Depending on a student’s interests and skill level, I work to develop a plan that maximizes their efficiency and enjoyment.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always make an effort to meet students them right where they are in a customized fashion. During the process, I work on a combination of fundamentals in the acronym TED-
Technique: excercises that give the student freedom to create sounds through left and right hand synchronization
Education: learning music theory and language specific to a genre.
Demonstration: applying those concepts in a real, musical setting.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
A degree in music performance from a Ottawa University. Also, studied at the University of Kansas, and Belmont University.

$25 per half hour lesson
$35 per hour lesson if student participates in the EMP music program.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching friends in high school, and have taught ever since
What types of students have you worked with?
Anyone from 5 year olds (usually ukulele) to college students, and retirees.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I hosted a birthday party that had some of the finest musicians in Kansas City. We had folk music through classical being performed, and it was a blast!
