Riley is a fantastic teacher. He’s patient and always makes it fun for my son. I like how he incorporates music theory as well as the concept of team work. Riley is very talented himself and I attribute my sons’ quick pick up of the guitar to the way in which Riley teaches with intuition, tools, excellent communication and always with a positive & upbeat attitude.

Ive learned a large amount of practical jazz theory in a short amount of time. Through lessons Ive been able to start connecting the dots between my current playing and music theory knowledge and see a path towards freedom of expression. I would highly recommend lessons here!

    Frequently asked questions

I always make an effort to meet students  them right where they are in a customized fashion. During the process, I work on a combination of fundamentals in the acronym TED-

Technique: excercises that give the student freedom to create sounds through left and right hand synchronization

Education: learning music theory and language specific to a genre.

Demonstration: applying those concepts in a real, musical setting.

A degree in music performance from a Ottawa University. Also, studied at the University of Kansas, and Belmont University.

    $25 per half hour lesson

$35 per hour lesson if student participates in the EMP music program.

I started teaching friends in high school, and have taught ever since

Anyone from 5 year olds (usually ukulele) to college students, and retirees.

I hosted a birthday party that had some of the finest musicians in Kansas City. We had folk music through classical being performed, and it was a blast!
