I custom design a program that teaches the genre of music that the student prefers. This way a student gets to start playing music that they are familiar with and not some old tunes out of a teaching book. I teach reading music and vocals at the same time.
It is also one of my favorite past-times. I have been playing the guitar since I was 10 years old. I took a few years of lessons and then self-taught myself. I also write music and lyrics. I have the patience to work with young people and the method to allow them to relate to the music that they are learning. This is rewarding for us both.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I get to know my student and the level of experience that they have and the genre that they relate to best. Then I design a custom lesson plan based on each individual.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing for 50 years. I took private lessons when I was young for several years, then self-taught after. I have played with and learned from lots of other guitarists and played in a band years ago. My strengths are Classic Rock and Blues Rock, but I also coach Country, pop, and other genre. I can read most guitar music and I like to teach fingerpicking techniques and vocals.
I know how to read music and teach that along with guitar fundamentals and techniques.

20.00 per half hour at your Location in Wichita.
Weekly or bi-weekly lessons available.
2.00 per hour Discounts available in pre-paid blocks of 10 lessons.
