Kurt Aiken Music Lessons
About
Hey current and future musicians, I'm Kurt and I have been teaching private music lessons for nearly 20 years! I teach because I personally love to play music and it's great to help my fellow humans find their own enjoyment from playing the guitar, piano, bass, or ukulele! I have tons of experience helping people of all sorts of ages and skill levels take their playing to new levels!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I get to know each student and work on the styles of music that they want to learn. I encourage working on reading music notation, but don't require it. I focus on technique and rhythm so that each student can sound great playing whatever they chose.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have played thousands of gigs and taught probably 35,000 private lessons over the last 20 years. I've played piano and guitar since I was a kid, and I studied music at Wichita State University.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing varies upon location. At my studios, lessons are $21 per half hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching friends at first. I realized how much I enjoyed helping people learn music, and started my business.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught piano and guitar to kids as young as 5 and retired adults and all ages in between. Some of my students have become pro musicians themselves, and some just play for their own enjoyment.
